Edinburgh Asset Finance’s contribution will enable the club to implement coaching initiatives on strength and conditioning sessions for the coming season. EAF have also purchased a full set of strips for the Mens first and second teams along with the junior team. Along with our normal Junior coaching we are able to fund a junior coach/manager for the coming season to organise the junior teams and maximise game time for them in junior leagues and tournaments.
We are very happy to welcome Neil Mitchinson back to our club after a long absence. Neil began playing hockey at Dunfermline Carnegie as an 11 year old progressing through the ranks to be one of the major players in our men’s first X1 until moving to University. Along with Neil, his brother Ross and father Jim played for Carnegie. Like his brother Ross played with us until he too left to attend University and eventually settled down south. Neil’s father Jim played with the club for years until injuries forced his retiral. During his time Jim was very enthusiastic in not only playing but supporting the Club and was one of our major sponsors for many years.
Neil said “I always had it in my mind to come back to Carnegie as it has always felt like my home club. Now, felt like the right time to return”
