On Saturday 21st September, Dunfermline Ladies 2’s travelled to Goldenacre to play Castle in their first league match of the season.
\nThe team welcomed goal keeper Sarah Deighan to the squad along with youngsters Susie Bond and Chloe Faulkner. <\/p>\n
The team started well but were up against an experienced Castle team who were strong in attack. The L2’s went down a goal and another in the second quarter.
\nIn the second half the team settled better and created some good scoring chances. The team were awarded a penalty corner, Gill Oswald\u2019s initial shot was blocked but she passed the rebound to Lauren Girdwood who skilfully slotted the ball into the net.
\nUnfortunately, shortly after Castle scored another. <\/p>\n
The team continued to fight and again had chances to score in the final quarter but could not add to their tally. <\/p>\n
Final score was 3-1 to Castle.
\nDespite the defeat, it was a good first game for the L2’s with lots of positives to build on. <\/p>\n
