Carnegie continued to keep possession with Uni 8s making a few breakthroughs which ultimately ended in them scoring in the first quarter to equalise.

Carengie kept their heads up going into the second quarter and held their ground. Going into the third quarter the L2s treated it as if the score was 0-0 and made the Uni team work. However a superb breakthrough from Edinburgh lead to them getting a goal to make the score 2-1. This however, did not dampen the spirits as the L2s had trust in each other. Working together, passing the ball around the back and up the lines which eventually reached Jodie Hoodie. Jodie scored an amazing goal leaving it as a draw of 2-2.

The fourth quarter was evenly matched and the ball was travelling all over the pitch. A few more shots on goal which sadly were saved by the Uni goalie.

MVPs were Laura Donaldson & Jodie Hood

Ladies 3s

On the 17th January, Dunfermline Carnegie 3’s travelled to Lasswade’s high school, Bonnyrigg to join Eskvale 2’s after a long awaited game for the second half of the season. The game started off strongly by both teams, shortly into the first quarter, Lily Stewart was able to slide the ball past the defenders and get Carnegie their first goal. Shortly after, after Kate Wallace taking a tumble on the pitch, she was able to get Carnegie their second goal.

Into the second quarter, both teams trying their hardest but Eskvale’s defenders were still no match for Carnegie’s 3’s as Fi McPhie managed to get another goal from a short corner. By half time the score was 3-0 to Dunfermline Carnegie.

Into the 3rd Quarter, Aimee McKenzie was able to fly past Eskvale once again, allowing the score to be 4-0.

Onto the last quarter, Carnegie were very unlucky when Eskvale were able to concede one lucky goal, setting the score board to 4-1. Within the last final minutes of the game, Aimee McKenzie was able to tap the ball into the opponents goal from a very lucky shot. The final whistle was blown which saw the score board 5-1 to Dunfermline Carnegie.

MVP was Niamh Gibbons

Ladies 2s On the 17th of January, the Carnegie Ladies 2s travelled to Peffermill playing fields to face Edinburgh University (8s).
