On Saturday 8th Sept, Dunfermline Ladies 2s started their league season with the opening game against WIT (Waverley Inveresk Trinity).
The game started with good even play from both teams. Through a combination of great passing play, it resulted in Anne Blyth scoring the first goal of the game after 25 mins from a great strike into the circle, across the front of keeper and finding the far corner. WIT came back and continued to pressure and were awarded a short corner. They were prevented from scoring by a great line save from centre back Megan Thomson. The score at half time 1-0.
The second half got underway and a short corner was awarded to Dunfermline early in the 2nd half but they were unable to convert it into points. Dunfermline continued to retain pressure on WIT finally scoring again from a short corner which was struck well by youngster by Lucy Ross which then deflected off the defence in to the net resulting in a final score of 2-0
MVP was awarded to Lucy Ross.
