Ladies 3s match reports for the end of the 1st half of the season

The ladies 3s played Borders 5s on Saturday 24th November at Woodmill.
The home team started well against strong opposition. They weathered a few borders attacks then settled into the game. The team played some great hockey in spells matching the ability of the opposition. A penalty corner was conceded and borders scored, adding a second before half time, again from a corner. After a positive team talk Dunfermline came out fighting and worked hard and came close a on a few occasions to score but could not find the net. Borders added 2 more in the second half to make the final score 4-0. MVP was Sally Tweddle for her work rate in the middle of the park.

On Saturday 1st December, the ladies 3s played their final game of the first half of the season against Peebles 2s at Woodmill. Dunfermline started the game well with lots of attacking play. After a few attempts Lucy Petrie put the home team ahead. They continued to attack and the Peebles goalie made lots of good saves but they were rewarded by a goal from Abby Neill. Dunfermline has a few more chances with Hannah Wood managing to make it 3 goals before the end of the first half. In the 2nd half Dunfermline had many penalties corners but sadly no goals despite good attempts. Peebles continued to defend well but struggled to hold off Dunfermline as Abby Neill scored 2 more goals. The game ended in 5-0 win for Dunfermline after a strong game and everyone trying their hardest.
