On Saturday 17th November Dunfermline Carnegie Ladies 2nd’s were away at ESM, playing Cala. Carnegie started off strong, with a lot of interlocking play. Carnegie took the lead as Ruth Poole took what looked like an effortless hit into the goal, scoring. Carnegie continued to put pressure on Cala into the second half, however Cala managed to gain some short corners. Despite this Carnegie’s defensive put up a respectable fight and stopped them from scoring. In the last 5 minutes it looked like a win for Carnegie. Unfortunately, Cala had a great chance to score and they took it, leaving the score 1-1 in the last 20 seconds. MVPs were Lauren Girdwood, Ellen Gordon and Fiona Osullivan.
On Saturday 1st December, the ladies 2nd XI played Falkirk and Linlithgow 2s.
The team put up a good fight to keep a strong opposition to a 1-0 lead at half-time.
Taegan made an impressive debut for the team in goal, making a number of saves under pressure. However, Falkirk extended their lead in the second half, scoring a further two goals, both from corners.
Using what we’d been practicing in training, we then passed the ball round the back before a cross from Lynn Haxton was thumped into the goal by Lauren Girdwood.
The final score was 3-1 to Falkirk and Linlithgow.
MVP was Taegan Rossouw.
