Ladies 3s determined to prove themselves.

Dunfermline Carnegie 3’s were determined to build on their performance from the previous weeks, in a fixture against Watsonians 6’s away at Mary Erskine playing fields. After a draw last week, Carnegie were determined to score more goals and bag a win.

The first half was high energy with Watsonians scoring the first two goals of the match. It was a short corner and teamwork between Lauren Girdwood and Niamh Gibbons that gave Carnegie their first goal. The first half finished 3-1 but Carnegie held their heads high.

The 2nd half saw Carnegie fight back with very strong midfield play from centre midfield Clare Morgan. She stole the ball several times turning it around and getting it up to the oppositions ‘D’. It was Amy Bennett who scored the 2nd goal for Carnegie after a great strike on goal. Carnegie showed good teamwork in the centre from Sam Laird, Amy, Annabelle Di Silva and Niamh, but were unfortunate not to score again against the strong defence of Watsonians.

The final score was 4-2 to Watsonians.

MVP was awarded to Clare Morgan.
