The Ladies 1s opened their 24/25 campaign with an away match to Falkirk and Linlithgow 1s on Saturday 14th September.
Fresh off the back of a draw against the same team last week, the girls were keen to improve and start the season with some points on the board.
The match started evenly with opportunities from both teams but with neither managing to convert to a goal. Dunfermline played well and applied pressure on the Falkirk goal leading to several short corners being won. Despite their best efforts they were unable to score and went into the half time break with the score level at 0-0.
After an encouraging team talk, the girls retook to the pitch and came out stronger than in the first half and continued to pressure the Falkirk defence. Again, despite their best efforts after several successive penalty corners, the girls were unlucky not to score.
In a break of play, Falkirk managed to get an open shot on the Dunfermline goal, and looked almost certain to score, but thankfully the Dunfermline defence held and the ball went wide. Into the last quarter of the game, still at 0-0 the Dunfermline girls turned their play up a gear and linked well together, creating several more goal scoring opportunities in the dying minutes of the game.
However, the Falkirk defence managed to keep the ball out the net, resulting in a final score of 0-0.
