Ladies 2s
The Dunfermline Carnegie Ladies 2s welcomed the Watsonians Colt 2s to Dunfermline for an afternoon game in the autumn sunshine.
Carnegie started well and attacked the game from the start, with a lot of good passing and possession. A strong defence closed down Watsonians attacks and set up the midfield for the counter. Against the run of play, Watsonians won a short corner and played a well worked shot, which was deflected in on the far post for their go ahead goal.
Carnegie continued to push forward and create some great chances in the opposition D but were unable to convert balls across the goal or their own short corners. They kept the pressure on Watsonians with the Carnegie defence absorbing Watsonians attacks with a combination of good clearances out the D, goalkeeper saves and skilful play to take the ball out of danger.
Carnegie finally got the breakthrough as Laura ran the ball to the right of the D and hit a perfect shot into goal, which deflected off the Watsonians keeper for the well deserved equaliser. Carnegie continued to attack, looking for the winning goal, but the teams saw out a well played 1-1 draw.
