Carnegie Ladies first team played Erskine Stewart’s Melville on what turned into a bright and warm Saturday. ESM quickly set a strong fast standard, scoring the first goal from a short corner after the ball dropped short from the GKs pads that was quickly pounced on. However, Carnegie quickly followed up with a skilful open play goal from Ciara Wilkie. ESM however scored another two goals, one from open play and another resulting from a penalty stroke after a Carnegie back stick on the line.
The score at half time was 3-1 but Carnegie kept their calm and came back with a goal from a short corner scored by Claire Stirling. ESM continued with their strong attack and scored two more goals, both from open play, meaning the game ended with a score of 5-2.
The MVP for this game was awarded to Becca Atkins for her amazing work in defence.
